Railways Extends 14315/14316 New Delhi-Bareilly Express Up to Kasganj

New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has approved the proposal of North Eastern Railway to extend the operation of 14315/14316 New Delhi–Bareilly Express up to Kasganj, improving rail connectivity for passengers travelling between western Uttar Pradesh and the national capital.

According to an order issued on January 24, 2026, the decision was communicated to the General Manager (Operations), North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, and Northern Railway, New Delhi, following a proposal sent by North Eastern Railway regarding the extension of the train beyond Bareilly.

With the approval, the train will now run as Kasganj–New Delhi–Kasganj Express, replacing the existing New Delhi–Bareilly–New Delhi Express service on the extended section. The change will also include revision of train numbers as per Railway Board instructions.

As per the approved schedule, the extended portion will cover Kasganj, Budaun, Ujhani and Bareilly, providing direct connectivity to New Delhi for passengers from these towns. Commercial stoppages on the extended route will include Budaun, Ujhani and Babugarh (as per operational feasibility).

Railway officials said the extension will benefit daily passengers, students and traders from the Kasganj–Budaun region, who currently depend on road transport or indirect train services to reach Delhi.

The train will have a composition of 21 coaches, including general, sleeper and air-conditioned coaches, with Kasganj designated for primary maintenance. One additional rake has also been approved to operate the extended service.

The Railway Board has directed that the extension be implemented at the earliest convenient date, preferably from the advance reservation period, and instructed railway authorities to give wide publicity before the service begins.
