12 Trains to Run at 130 kmph on Palanpur–Ajmer–Jaipur–Rewari Route; NWR Approves Speed Increase

Jaipur: North Western Railway (NWR) has approved an increase in the maximum running speed of 12 trains from 110 kmph to 130 kmph on the Palanpur–Ajmer–Jaipur–Rewari section, aiming to reduce travel time and improve operational efficiency on the busy route.

According to an official notification issued on March 13, 2026, the competent authority has granted permission to run selected trains at a maximum speed of 130 kmph, or the sectional speed, whichever is lower, on the Rewari–Jaipur–Marwar–Palanpur section of Ajmer and Jaipur divisions. The revised speed will come into effect between March 14 and March 17, 2026, depending on the train.

The trains allowed to run at higher speed include Bhavnagar Terminus–Ayodhya Cantt Express (19201/19202), Kacheguda–Bhagat Ki Kothi Express (17605/17606), Bhagat Ki Kothi–Pune Express (11089/11090), Bikaner–Miraj Superfast (20475/20476), Delhi–Udaipur Superfast (20473/20474), and Delhi–Sabarmati Superfast (12915/12916).

It is learnt that the speed increase has been permitted after review of track conditions, signalling systems, overhead equipment, and safety standards. The decision is expected to improve punctuality and reduce journey time for passengers travelling between Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Telangana.

The order states that trains will run at higher speed only after ensuring compliance with all safety conditions, including restrictions related to track, bridges, signalling, overhead equipment, and rolling stock. Coaches certified for running at 130 kmph, including LHB coaches, must be used before allowing the higher speed.

Officials added that all existing temporary and permanent speed restrictions will continue to apply wherever required to maintain safety. DeshBharat
