NHAI Begins Tender Process for 108-km Badvel – Nellore Highway Project

New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for the construction of a new four-lane highway connecting Badvel to Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. The proposed highway project will be developed on Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) mode and is expected to improve road connectivity between key national highways in the state.

According to the official notice issued by NHAI on March 11, 2026, the project involves development of a 108.134 km-long four-lane highway from Badvel Gopavaram village on NH-67 to Guruvindapudi village on NH-16. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 3,352.83 crore, including GST.

The Government of India has entrusted NHAI with the responsibility of executing the project, and the authority has started the bidding process to select a private developer who will construct, operate, and maintain the highway and recover the cost through toll collection as per BOT (Toll) mode.

The new highway will strengthen transport connectivity in Andhra Pradesh and will help in faster movement of goods and passengers between the interior regions and the coastal corridor linked with NH-16, which is part of the major east coast highway network.

The bidding documents are available on the official NHAI and e-tender portals from March 11 to April 29, 2026, and bids will be opened on April 30, 2026.

The project is expected to boost regional development, reduce travel time, and improve highway infrastructure in the state once completed. DeshBharat
