Non-Interlocking Work at Delhi Kishanganj to Affect Long-Distance Train Routes

Chennai: Several long-distance trains originating from Shri Vaishno Devi Katra will be diverted due to Non-Interlocking work at Delhi Kishanganj station in connection with yard remodeling work in the Delhi Division, according to a notification issued by Northern Railway.
As part of the operational changes, certain trains will run on a diverted route and skip their scheduled stoppages at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations. Instead, an additional stoppage will be provided at Delhi Safdarjung station.
Train No. 16318 Shri Vaishno Devi Katra–Kanniyakumari Himsagar Express, departing from Shri Vaishno Devi Katra at 22:30 hrs on May 4 and May 11, 2026, will be diverted to run via Shakurbasti, Daya Basti, Patel Nagar, Delhi Safdarjung and Okhla. The train will halt at Delhi Safdarjung from 13:35 hrs to 13:40 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 16032 Shri Vaishno Devi Katra–Dr. MGR Chennai Central Andaman Express, leaving Shri Vaishno Devi Katra at 22:30 hrs on May 5, 8, 9 and 12, 2026, will also be diverted via the same route, skipping stoppages at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin. It will make an additional halt at Delhi Safdarjung from 13:35 hrs to 13:40 hrs.
Train No. 16788 Shri Vaishno Devi Katra–Tirunelveli Navyug Express, departing at 22:30 hrs on May 7, 2026, will also run on the diverted route via Shakurbasti, Daya Basti, Patel Nagar, Delhi Safdarjung and Okhla, with a scheduled halt at Delhi Safdarjung between 13:35 hrs and 13:40 hrs.
