Mumbai LTT–Tirunelveli Express to Get Six Additional Coaches on Permanent Basis

Mumbai: In response to rising passenger demand, Central Railway has announced the permanent augmentation of six additional coaches to Train Nos. 22629/22630 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)–Tirunelveli–LTT Express.
According to a press release issued by Central Railway, the train will be strengthened with one AC 2-Tier coach, four AC 3-Tier coaches and one Sleeper Class coach, increasing overall capacity on the popular long-distance route.
Revised Coach Composition
Train No. 22629/22630 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Tirunelveli Express
Existing Composition (16 LHB coaches):
1 AC 2-Tier, 2 AC 3-Tier, 1 AC 3-Tier Economy, 6 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class, 1 Second Seating-cum-Luggage/Guard’s Brake Van and 1 Generator Car.
Revised Composition (22 LHB coaches):
2 AC 2-Tier, 6 AC 3-Tier, 1 AC 3-Tier Economy, 7 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class, 1 Second Seating-cum-Luggage/Guard’s Brake Van and 1 Generator Car.
Train No. 22629 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Tirunelveli Express will operate with the revised composition from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus from April 16, 2026.
Train No. 22630 Tirunelveli–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express will run with the revised composition from Tirunelveli with effect from April 15, 2026.
