Soro:  Speed trials were conducted on the newly constructed third railway line between Soro and Ranital under the Kharagpur Division of the South Eastern Railway. The trial run took place between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on Tuesday.

On this occasion, a P-7 high-speed engine (No. 30510) brought from Ghaziabad operated at a speed of 140 km per hour, running between Soro and Ranital and back four times on a trial basis.

Senior officials of the Kharagpur Division, including engineering and operational authorities, were present onboard during the testing. Following the successful completion of the speed trial, the Soro Station Manager stated that the up line between Soro and Ranital would soon be capable of handling fast-moving trains in the coming days.

Train operations on the line will commence after inspection and approval by the Railway Safety Commissioner. Notably, construction of the third line began in 2023 and has been completed within two years. DeshBharat
