Connectivity Boost for UP: Ganga Expressway to connect with Ram Van Gaman Path
February 18, 2026
Prayagraj: In a significant development for regional infrastructure, the 594 km long Ganga Expressway is set to be connected with the Ram Van Gaman Path in Pratapgarh. The Ram Van Gaman Path is an ongoing project connecting the holy cities of Ayodhya and Chitrakoot.
This strategic link is expected to bolster industrial growth, with industrial corridors being developed in both Prayagraj and Pratapgarh districts to strengthen the local economy. The expressway spans 15.5 km in Prayagraj and 40.5 km in Pratapgarh, passing through a total of 42 villages across both districts.
Key Highlights of the Project:
Route: Starting from Meerut, the expressway traverses through Hapur, Amroha, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, and Rae Bareli before entering Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.
Enhanced Connectivity: An entry point at Judaipur Dandu village in Soraon tehsil will allow vehicles from eastern UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha to access the expressway via the Prayagraj bypass.
Advanced Safety Technology:
Alarm Sensors: Road markings (ribbed markings) are equipped with sensors to alert drivers if they drift too close to the edge, a feature especially useful during foggy conditions.
AI Surveillance: AI-enabled cameras will monitor accidents and automatically notify control rooms to dispatch ambulances or cranes.
Crash Barriers: Metallic beam barriers have been installed to prevent out-of-control vehicles from falling off the road or crossing over.
Speed & Toll Systems: The speed limit is set at 120 km/h for light vehicles and 80 km/h for heavy vehicles. High-speed readers at entry points can scan vehicles at 150 km/h for seamless FASTag toll collection based on the distance travelled.
Infrastructure for Breakdown: A 3-meter-wide paved shoulder with aluminium railings is provided for vehicles to wait safely for assistance. To prevent cattle from entering the high-speed corridor, a five-foot boundary wall and mesh fencing have been constructed.
According to Prayagraj DM Manish Kumar Verma, this integration will not only facilitate faster travel but also serve as a catalyst for the “wings of industrial development” in the region. DeshBharat
