Centre Shares Progress Update on Raipur–Dhanbad (Rajganj) Economic Corridor

New Delhi: Work on the Raipur–Dhanbad (Rajganj) Economic Corridor is steadily progressing, with several key stretches already completed and others nearing their final stages, according to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The ambitious corridor was approved under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase I. “This Economic Corridor will boost the economy as well as social growth of the entire region of Chhattisgarh & Jharkhand. Various representations were received to expedite the construction of this Economic Corridor,” said the written reply of Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.

Here is the latest project update on the 9 sections of the project:

– The Bilaspur–Urga stretch, with a total length of 70.20 km, has already achieved 69.01 km of construction and is expected to be completed by June 2026.

– The Urga–Pathalgaon section has completed 53.57 km out of the approved 80.585 km and is targeted for completion by August 2026.

– Physical possession of 87 per cent of land has been achieved for the 104.250 km long Pathalgaon–Kunkuri–Chhattisgarh–Jharkhand border stretch. Additionally, Stage-I forest clearance was also received on 18.07.2025 for this section and working permission is in progress.

– For the 32 km CG–JH border to Gumla section, physical possession of 68% of total land acquisition has been done and Stage-I forest clearance has been granted for this section also on 22.12.2025.

– Three sections, namely Gumla–Palma, Palma–Ranchi, and Bokaro–Dhanbad, of 63 km, 23 km and 57 km respectively, have already been completed.

– Meanwhile, construction is underway on the Ormanjhi–Gola and Gola–Bokaro stretches, with physical progress of 87 per cent and 75 per cent respectively. These sections are likely to be completed by May 2026. DeshBharat
